Episode 400: “Once you begin to hire staff, is it better to use a virtual team or to have local staff come into a central office?”

Today’s episode is a very special episode of Ask Matt Lloyd. It is episode number 400 and it was recorded in the MOBE Film Studio and in our soon-to-be new Penthouse office in Soho Suites in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The question for today addresses staff you hire for your business and whether it is better to have virtual staff or local staff to help you run your business.

I share some of MOBE’s history from the very beginning when I was working out of my bedroom in Perth, Australia with only a handful of virtual staff up through present time where I have about 180 staff members which include approximately 40 staff working in the Kuala Lumpur headquarters and the rest working virtually throughout the world.

I take you on a tour of our new penthouse office that is currently undergoing renovation and share how the office will be laid out with our various departments all working on one floor with a beautiful view of the city; as well as the space we will rent to startup businesses who can not only utilize our office space but also take advantage of our education resources to build their businesses.
